Isleworthians Football Club is a Chartered Standard community football club based in Isleworth, Middlesex (TW7) which aims to provide a safe environment for players of all abilities, in which they can learn, develop and enjoy playing football as part of a team, in a way that each child is valued, listened to and supported.
There is no friendlier nor busier place within a local community than a grassroots football club. Whether it’s weekly training sessions, match days or special ‘Club Days’ – events where we all come together, our football club is firstly a place for THE PLAYERS, where they can come together with their friends and family and the wider community.
We adhere to the FA’s Respect Code and initiative, and require all who play under our banner to follow this philosophy; parents/carers/guardians, players, coaching staff, spectators and officials alike.
We encourage and teach fair play throughout all age groups and the players learn how to play as a team, valuing each other and learning from their coaches.
All our coaching staff are qualified to at least FA Level 1 are DBS checked and have a current first aid training qualification – as a minimum
We are an inclusive youth football club and have a zero tolerance policy towards any form of racism (gender, culture, language, racial origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation) or bullying.
Coaching staff are required to be positive, friendly and supportive to all players, and have an open door policy for parents/carers/guardians to discuss any concerns they have with them throughout the season. Any issues which cannot be resolved at this level are then elevated to the next level where the Club Committee Senior Members become involved.
Parents/carers/guardians are recognised and valued within our club and are encouraged to play a key role in supporting the players and teams, and bringing our club ethos to life.
We began under the umbrella of Old Isleworthian’s Football Club, becoming Old Isleworthian’s Youth Football Club, and have since become Isleworthians Football Club in our own right in 2021. The new badge includes Percy the lion, the magnificent big cat that sits on the roof of Syon House in Isleworth. Lions are symbols of courage and power which is also reflected in the Latin wording Fortitudo contra – ‘Courage Against Opposition’.
We work closely with the team at We Make Footballers (Isleworth) https://www.wemakefootballers.com/isleworth/ who identify players from their weekly football training sessions who are ready to play as part of a team at U7’s, and they then become part of our football community and family.
We run mixed teams from U7’s to U18’s and currently are proud to have an all-girls team at U12’s. In total there are 19 teams throughout these age groups.
The majority of our coaching staff is made up of parents who volunteer to run their child’s football team and for whom we then arrange FA Level 1 training, First Aid Training and complete background checks. However, we also have some very dedicated coaches who started their life as a grassroots footballer with one of our teams and now give time back to the club. Whichever pathway leads our coaching staff and support staff to us – we are eternally grateful.
We play in the Surrey Youth League wsyl.org.uk and play our matches on a Sunday morning / early afternoon.
